What Does Error F1 Mean?
Gree assigns F1 to the indoor ambient temperature sensing bulb being open or short circuited. That bulb reads the air entering the indoor unit, which the system treats as the room temperature, so once the reading leaves its acceptable range the control has no reference against which to compare the set point. Gree also manufactures under other brand names, and a unit sold under a partner brand may present a different code set even where the hardware is related. Check the code against the manual supplied with your own indoor unit.
